History: The Senadores (Senators) were founding members of the Puerto Rican League beginning in 1938. Many major leaguers and Negro leagues players played in the league, and Larry Doby and fellow Newark Eagle Monte Irvin were both in San Juan for the 1946-47 season. The team won eight league championships and one Caribbean Series title during their tenure in the league.
