History: John McGraw’s Giants were the team that experimented most frequently with uniform and color changes in the first two decades of the 20th Century (perhaps their most outlandish design being the lavender crosshatch pinstripe duds from 1916). But we chose this classic black-and-white motif from the 1911, the first of three consecutive NL pennant-winning seasons. Although they added a special all-black uniform for the 1911 World Series, New York was relatively subdued graphically for the next few seasons, with a logo not returning to the cap until 1915.
