History: Chattanooga won the Southern Association regular season title in 1939 with a record of 85-65. Kiki Cuyler was the manager, and Dick Lanahan led the pitching staff with an ERA of 2.95 and nineteen wins, a league best. The Lookouts were defeated in the post-season playoffs by the Atlanta Crackers.
