History: The Raiders were an affiliate of the Cleveland Indians in 1939, representing Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in the Three-I League. The club took the ’39 regular season pennant, on the strength of the hitting of Del Jones (.362) and George Bink (116 RBI), but lost in the first round of the playoffs. However, the following season, the Raiders came back and won their first of three consecutive league championships.
