History: Named for Brooklyn’s Tip Top Bakery, whose owner also owned the club, the Tip Tops represented Brooklyn in the Federal League during the league’s two years of existence in 1914-1915. Despite the league’s best efforts to ensure that its lone club in New York City would succeed, believing it necessary for the league to gain viability as a third Major League, the Tip Tops followed a fourth place finish in 1914 with a seventh place finish in 1915.
