History: The 1949 College Football season yielded yet another undefeated season for the powerful Army Black Knights and legendary head coach Earl H. “Red” Blaik. The gridiron cadets outscored their opponents 354 to 68 that season. During Blaiks’ tenure, Army compiled an impressive 121-32-10 record, including 3 National Championships and a 32 game winning streak between 1944 and 1947. The Army Black Knights currently play as an independent and are not part of any conference. They play their home games at Michie Stadium on the campus of the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, New York.
