History: Not even the signing of Babe Ruth in 1935 could reverse the Braves’ fortunes, and in 1936 new owner Bob Quinn decided to shake things up by changing the team’s name to the Bees and adopting royal blue and gold as new team colors. In 1937 a yellow cap was supposedly worn (although we’ve never seen a color photo of one). Nevertheless, this was dropped the following season. The blue-and-gold color scheme was dropped in 1939, and the Bees name abandoned in 1941.
