History: New research has uncovered this gorgeous cap from Philadelphia’s top Negro league team. The Stars were founded by former Hilldale owner Ed Bolden, and the team was co-owned by Eddie Gottlieb, who also owned the basketball Sphas and Warriors. Among the many great players who donned a Stars uniform were Biz Mackey, Chet Brewer, and Turkey Stearnes. The Stars played at Penmar Park in West Philadelphia.
