History: Perennial minor league manager Pepper Martin led the Sun Sox to a second-place finish, just behind the powerful Havana Cubans. Miami outfielder Dick Haviland was named to the FIL All-Star team. Although Haviland batted .306 in his short minor league career with the Brooklyn organization, he was prone to errors and never called up.
