History: The summer of 1938 marked the inaugural season of Hollywood Stars baseball, after the club formerly known as the Mission Reds, representing San Francisco’s Mission District, moved south, tired of sharing Seals Stadium with the better-loved San Francisco Seals. However, when the club arrived in Los Angeles, it shared Wrigley Field with the well-supported Los Angeles Angels and only drew 103,000 total fans in its first season.
