History: Following the team’s 1944 NFL Championship the Green Bay Packers sort of treaded water for a few seasons as they hovered right around a .500 record until 1948 when they really dropped off. The team went 3-9-0 in ’48, and wouldn’t have a winning record until 1959 and wouldn’t return to the playoffs until 1960. The ’48 team was led in rushing and (589 yards) and touchdowns (4) by halfback Tony Canadeo, who a year later became just the third NFL player to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a single season.
