History: While it’s true that a cap with this Cubbie logo has been reproduced many times, we are bringing it to you in its proper 8-panel configuration. The logo, likewise, is correctly rendered in felt with embroidered detail. This cap was apparently only worn on the road (the home caps were blank) and was dropped after one season. The Cubs in 1914 were not only competing with the White Sox, but with a new Federal League team that had just built a state-of-the-art ballpark on Chicago’s North Side called Weeghman Park. The Cubs would move into this park (now known as Wrigley Field) in 1916 after the Chicago Whales and the Federal League both folded.
