History: The baseball program from Brown University, located in Providence, Rhode Island, became a part of the Ivy League in 1948, making it the last school to join. In those early years, the Bears featured star second baseman Robert MacConnell, who led the team in hitting three times during his career (1949-1952) and was a flawless fielder and pivot man. He was also named the team captain in 1952 and earned additional letters in both basketball and football.
