History: The Georgia Bulldogs Baseball program was in a bit of a fallow period in the early ‘60s, having reached the NCAA Tournament in successive years the decade before, but even during a low point the program still produced something special. On May 3, 1963, right-hander Don Woeltjen took the mound against local rivals Georgia Tech. The 6’2” hurler proceeded to pitch 9 complete innings, retiring 27 consecutive batters with 11 Ks and zero walks as the Bulldogs won 5-0. His complete game perfecto remains the only such game in University of Georgia history, and the only one in an in-conference game in Southeastern Conference history – at the time Georgia Tech was also in the SEC.
