History: American League President Ban Johnson sent a team of stars led by Red Sox third-baseman Herb Hunter. The team included Casey Stengel, Waite Hoyte, and George Kelley on a goodwill tour of Japan in 1922. The American professionals dominated their Japanese opposition and were accused of bad sportsmanship by the Japanese for throwing away a game to the amateur Mita team.
