History: From 1928 to 1939 the Redbirds sported cap crowns which matched the home or road uniform fabric, but were unadorned other than red piping sewn between the panels. The navy blue cap replaced that style in 1940, and the Cards experimented with a few designs, including a full bird and the block felt letter version offered here, before settling on the interlocking “STL” still used today. (Incidentally the St. Louis Browns also adopted the identical “STL” logo).
